March Madness

Usually when people that are Americans see those words their minds automatically go to College B-Ball or White sales at JC Penney.  hahahaha

But no this time it's all about the green.  Green smoothies that is.  WOW, I finally got my OMNI-V 3HP blender and used it already at work to make green smoothies.  YUMMY.  At least now I wont blow the fuses in transformers or the breaker at the USO when I do classes.

So it's the middle of March and I want to make a 10 day challenge to all who would like to participate.  
For the last 10 days of March have 2 quarts of green smoothie per day. . .  everyday.  Mix your batch in the a.m and take it with you.  drink till its gone should be by noon or so.  Your insides will love you and love the experience and you might shed some inches and compacted waste to boot!!

Your skin could get clearer, your dietary lifestyle ailments could subside or diminish...what do you have to lose except unwanted inches, compacted feces, crows feet, and that bloated feeling.  And Oh Boy!  will you get the detox of a lifetime.  Haaaaahahahahha.  

So, get with me and make the comment on this if you are gonna get with it!  Only got a few more days to get to getting!  Green Smoothies for 10 days. 
 
Make a difference or make excuses.  You can't do both.

UPGRADE your Happiness

This a email group I've belonged to for quite some time and this is a thing that I think is par for the way some people I see everyday are experiencing their existence.

Happiness is totally out of the grasp of many, or so they think.  Whenever I think of anything coming into my life (positive or negative) by choice, or staying away by choice.  I find myself hearing play in my mind the words to a Michael Jackson song..."I'm starting with the man in the mirror, I'm asking him to change his ways.  And no message could have been any clearer, IF YOU WANNA MAKE THE WORLD A BETTER PLACE, TAKE A LOOK AT YOURSELF AND THEN MAKE A CHANGE!"

Here, the message is HAPPINESS.  But so easily it could be your diet, your peace of mind, your life transition, your financial situation, your weight, your desire to be disease free, or at a minimum symptom free.

So, just look at what Bob has on tap and see if it fits your bill.


Bob Doyle, asks the question,   How long is the list of things in your life that take precedence over your happiness.

Now, think about it a minute. Most of us are so caught up in the stresses and distractions of just getting through the day, that we're really not allowing ourselves time to simply bask in happiness.

The truth is, that regardless of your situation - no matter how grim - there are actually WAYS to tap back into happiness...and it's so important that you do so, particularly from a Law of Attraction point of view.

Our predominant vibration impacts our experience of reality - what comes in and out of our lives.  But so much of that vibration is determined by things that are going on subconsciously.

So if we're just kind of "going through the motions" in our day - and even if we're not really feeling "bad", we're just kind of...."whatever."

Well the vibration of "whatever" does not attract extraordinary things, and it certainly won't help to transform the situations in our lives that are perpetuating these feelings...it's kind of an endless attraction cycle.

I recently read a book by Kimberly Englot called "The NOW of Happiness" where she discusses a number of ways that we can be more "resilient" when it comes to dealing with situations in our lives that are robbing us of our happiness.

Because I understand that true happiness is something that seems to be more and more elusive for people these days, I wanted Kimberly to share some of her strategies with you in an upcoming teleseminar called "Resilience - How to be Happy in a Frustrating World."

THE ARTHRITIS REMEDY?

What if you found out everything you thought and believed was wrong?

Let's look at arthritis.  It affects millions of people and even children now.  What has changed and how do we rid ourselves from this ailment?

Arthritis Treatment using Potato Juice

The raw potato juice therapy is considered one of the most successful
biological treatments for rheumatic and arthritic conditions. It has
been used in folk medicine for centuries. The traditional method of
preparing potato juice is to cut a medium-sized potato into thin slices,
without peeling the skin, and place the slices overnight in a large
glass filled with cold water. The water should be drunk in the morning
on an empty stomach. Fresh juice can also be extracted from potatoes. A
medium-sized potato should be diluted with a cup of water and drunk
first thing in the morning.

Arthritis Treatment using Other Raw Juices


One cup of green juice, extracted from any green leafy vegetable, mixed
in equal proportions with carrot, celery, and red beet juices is good
for arthritis. The alkaline action of raw juices dissolves the
accumulation of deposits around the joints and in other tissues. A cup
of fresh pineapple juice is also valuable, as the enzyme bromelain in
fresh pineapple juice reduces swelling and inflammation in
osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis.

Arthritis Treatment using Sesame Seeds

A teaspoon of black sesame seeds, soaked in a quarter cup of water and
kept overnight, has been found to be effective in preventing frequent
joint pains. The water in which the seeds are soaked should also be
taken along with the seeds first thing in the morning.

Arthritis Treatment using Copper

Drinking water kept overnight in a copper container accumulates traces
of copper, which is said to strengthen the muscular system. A copper
ring or bracelet is worn for the same reason.

Arthritis Treatment using Calcium

Studies have shown that calcium can help arthritis. Several patients
have discovered that joint pains have either been relieved or have
disappeared entirely after taking calcium. This mineral should be taken
in the form of calcium lactate. Two teaspoons of calcium lactate, each
teaspoon providing 400 mg of absorbable calcium, may be taken three
times daily in water, before meals for at least four months.

Arthritis Ttreatment using Garlic


Garlic is another effective remedy for arthritis. It contains an
anti-inflammatory property which accounts for its effectiveness in the
treatment of this disease. Garlic may be taken raw or cooked according
to individual preference.

Arthritis Treatment using Bananas


Bananas, being a rich source of vitamin B6, have proved useful in the
treatment of arthritis. A diet of only bananas for three or four days is
advised in treating this condition. The patient may eat eight or nine
bananas daily during this period and nothing else.

Arthritis Treatment using Lime


Lime has also been found beneficial as a home remedy for arthritis. The
citric acid found in lime is a solvent of uric acid which is the primary
cause of some types of arthritis. The juice of one lime, diluted with
water, may be taken once a day, preferably first thing in the morning.

Arthritis Treatment using Alfalfa

A tea made from the herb alfalfa, especially from its seeds, has shown
beneficial results in the treatment of arthritis. One teaspoon of
alfalfa seeds may be added to one cup of water. Three to four cups of
this tea should be taken daily by arthritics for at least two weeks.

Arthritis Treatment using Green Gram Soup


Another home remedy found useful in relieving pains in the joints is the
use of green gram soup. This soup should be prepared by mixing a
tablespoon of green gram in a cup of water, with two crushed garlic
cloves. It should be taken twice a day.

Arthritis Treatment using Castor Oil

Treatment with castor oil has been found beneficial in arthritis. The
procedure, as prescribed by a Spanish doctor, is to boil two tablespoons
of castor oil over a stove burner. The oil should then be poured into a
glass of fresh orange juice and taken before breakfast daily till the
disease is cured. It was advised to patients to take it for three weeks,
wait for another three weeks and then repeat it again for another three
weeks. It is, however, essential that the patient must take an alkaline
diet while adopting this mode of treatment otherwise the value of the
treatment will be lost.

Arthritis Treatment using Coconut or Mustard Oil

Warm coconut oil or mustard oil, mixed with two or three pieces of
camphor should be massaged on stiff and aching joints. It will increase
blood supply, and reduce inflammation and stiffness with the gentle
warmth produced while massaging. Camphorated oil is an ancient
rubefacient used for the purpose.

Arthritis : Home Remedies suggested by users

Take fruits and vegetables in the form of salads
The diet of an arthritis patient should be planned so as to produce
alkalinity in the blood. It should include fruits and vegetables in the
form of salads, and, at least, two cooked vegetables. In severe cases,
it would be advisable to put the patient on raw vegetable juice therapy
three times a day, for about a week. Repeated juice fasts are
recommended at intervals of every two months.

Other Arthritis Treatments


Keep Body Warm, Don't Bandage Joints

The body should be kept warm at all times . Joints should not be
bandaged tightly as this limits movement and interferes with the free
circulation of blood.

Take Rest, Should have Plenty of Indirect Ventilation


There should be plenty of indirect ventilation in the bedroom. Rest is
advised when there is acute inflammation in the joints.

TO EAT, or WHAT TO EAT, That is the question

WHAT TO EAT:  Eat what you can eat in its natural state.  EVERY CREATURE on the planet eats the designated food for their species in it's natural state.  All but humans.  So, just because you can cook it, should you?  Is it BEST for your health?  Is it best for the planet?

Sharing Without Caring.  That phrase was in pieces in my head until I read those words in that order on a blog and a light went off inside my head (A-HA!)

That's it, I thought.  Share with them, the information to save their lives and care less if they use it or not.

Share the gift of health, of ease, of simplicity.  Share the secret of healthy children, a lifetime free of cavities, no ear infections, few if any bouts with influenza and in a normal growth range without ADD/ADHD, or childhood obesity.

My kids (growing up) were normal in every way except health.  In that way they were exceptional.  Never an ear infection, cold or flu, showed up right in the middle of those charts of height and weight, never fat; never thin...For about 5 years of my youngest son's life my mom lived with my family and boy did my husband and kids ever make good use of that time.  My mom cooked.  She ACTUALLY prepared meals.  This is the way in which I was brought up.  You as a parent, as a mate prepared meals for your family. The purpose was to ensure time together as well as KNOW what they were eating (sometimes) and that it was nutritious.

TODAY, things are different.  As a parent or even as a human you see them everyday those kids that are just too big.  Experiencing difficulty walking, you can hear them breathing, just fat.  not Husky, (like they called them back when I was a kid).  There are no big bones...just excess fat wrapped around those poor bones.  As you look to the parents you see from where it comes.  8 year old kid eating a double meat burger at Burger King in the food court, mom or dad with the 5 piece from Popeyes, extra helping of fries and a Extra-Large sugary drink.

And there I stand with my Omni Blender, some fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds and almond mylk, offering samples of smoothies, trail mix and charoses.  As the parent says with an upturned nose, "Whats in it?"  He dont like vegetables, (i'm thinking...REALLY!!??)  I ask, is she/he allergic to anything?  She/he can taste the smoothie if they'd like.  Again the parent asks But, what's in it? (the child has the small cup in their hands tasting and says ummm this tastes good).  I smile to the child and again the mom, says "I want to know whats in it for me to know."  I say to the parent...pointedly...SHE LIKES IT!  SHE SAYS IT TASTES GOOD!  It's very nutritious and good for her AND she likes it. hint, hint.

Still totally blind and clueless the mother looks at me as I ignore her pleas for ingredients.  Then the child picks up the cup of apple charoses, I say to her, ooh, that's my favorite at breakfast, tastes like apple sauce..you will REALLY LIKE THAT.  the mom smells it and looks at me again and says whats in this?  So, to prove my point. I say, apples, carrots, zucchini, cabbage and cranberries.  The child immediately, puts the cup back down and says "Naw, I dont think I wanna try that one."  I look at the mother with sincere disappointment and say to her, see, thats why you NEVER do that.    

Sharing without caring.  It rolls off the tongue easy enough, but there is a point at which that 100lb 8 year old just breaks your heart and you know that you do care about what you share.  It does matter that the parent will continue to kill their kids with the type of love they know which is tied faithfully to processed, fast non-food type stuff.

So, I asked, What do you eat?  When and why do you eat it? 

WHAT:  I eat live and living foods.  Fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, berries and legumes.

WHEN:  when I am HUNGRY. 

WHERE:  just about anyplace, since it's all readily available and easily transportable.

WHY:  Because food is designed to nourish our bodies.  The vitamins, minerals, trace minerals and other elements that are in REAL foods are at the same vibrational rate as the human body and speak the right language to send what we need to the right places in our body.

Like attracts like.  Its natural to see a ripe beautiful piece of fruit on a bush or tree and want to eat it.  To pick it, feel it, smell it and then place it in your mouth checking its sweetness, its nectar.  Its not so natural to see a pig in a sty and want to bite its ear off or suckle on it's teet.  Not so natural to find a nest of any animal that nests and steal its eggs and poke a hole in it and suck the insides out right there on the spot.

See, Simple. Basic. Natural.

Raw or lightly steamed if you prefer...Fruit, vegetables, seeds, nuts, berries and legumes...That is the answer..

Eating to Live ~ do you?

 Health is the most precious possession you, personally, can have.  You cannot buy it, you have to work at it.  You have to sacrifice for it.  Health is your heritage, your freedom from illness. Just as the citizens of a nation have to work and sacrifice for the precious gift of freedom, to hold and keep it, so the individual has to work on the precious heritage of freedom from illness.  You work on it by educating yourself, changing your diet and lifestyle, changing your outlook to see the purpose of life and by believing in the universal law that states;
“As you sow, so shall you reap”.

One of the strangest things that I hear from people when they know that I have a primarily raw and whole food diet is that "Oh, I could never do that, I JUST LOVE TO EAT!"

Everything happens for a reason I believe and just after the last conversation that went that way I was reading a book and came upon a page that began with:

"But I just like to eat."  From here I will quote the Rice Diet book.. We hear this all the time.  Unfortunately, it's almost never true.  Many people think of themselves as food lovers, but their actions are speaking much louder than their words: they eat while they are talking; they eat while watching television; they eat while standing up or while driving in their car.  They eat so quickly and mindlessly that there is no way they can possibly be enjoying the food.  If we really loved food we would eat slowly, pay more attention to it, and eat with reverence.  if we liked to eat, we would use less or no salt at all and few if any condiments so that we could taste the food itself.  (this food we so claim to love to eat).

Reading that so close after that conversation made me look at other times where the similar thing happened.

Take a man, 5'10" and close to 300lbs.  Asks me about getting healthy.  Eating better, getting fit, losing fat and building muscle.  Hmmm, where would you think he should begin?  With me, I think lowering the fat is first because of the health implications.  My first thought was a detox/cleanse of the bowels and GI tract.  Stop all chewing for at least 10 days and give the digestive system a rest.  increase water intake, remove all sweets, flours, breads, dairy and meats.  Blended and juiced - fruit and vegetable nutrition until he was having 3 to 4 good bowel movements daily and had dropped 5 to 20 pounds.

His reply?  I need protein, I have to eat meat.  hmmm, I thought.  He goes on to say, I have a strength program and I eat protein 5 to 6 times a day to keep up my strength.  WOW, I thought.  So, I said, if all your body needs is 21% protein and you are eating 62% what do you think happens to the rest?  In case you don't know it turns into FAT.  Besides if your program has served you so well all this time, where is your six pack and 15% bodyfat?  Why ask for assistance and refuse to even look at it.

INSANITY:  continuing to do the same thing again and again yet expecting a different result.

Making a change to your dietary habits can be a wonderful thing for you as well as your family.  try these few recipes and see if they don't win you friends around the table
Down Home Greens
1 bunch collard greens,
1 bunch kale or swiss chard,
2 tbsp. flaxseed oil,
1/4 lemon, juiced, 
3 tbsp. unpasteurized apple cider vinegar, 
1 1/2 tbsp. unheated honey, 
1–2 garlic cloves, pressed, 
1 tsp. ground cumin, 
1/2 scant tsp. Celtic sea salt or to taste 
1) Wash the greens and cut out the rib going almost all the way down the middle of the leaf (save for juicing).
2) Lay the greens one on top of the other and then fold in half and roll the whole bunch into a tight roll. (You'll probably have to do this twice to use all the greens.) Starting at one end of the roll, cut into very thin slivers. Put the slivers into a large bowl and set aside.  
3) In a small bowl, mix the rest of the ingredients and blend well into a dressing.  
4) Toss the greens with the dressing until they are well coated. Put approx. 3 heavy plates directly on top of the greens. Cover and let marinate in the refrigerator overnight. The plates help compress the dressing into the tough green leaves. These greens could also be served just freshly prepared, but you may need time to get used to the flavor.
Dr. Kirschner's Green Drink In an Out of Print Book by Dr. Kirschner, I Found This Wonderful Recipe, which I've Modified a Little
1 pineapple, juiced
15 almonds, soaked
4 dates, soaked and pitted
2 heaping tbsp. of soaked sunflower seeds
1–2 large handfuls (or more) of fresh green leaves (see below)
1/2 tsp. kelp powder
1) Juice 1 pineapple, then put into the blender with all the other ingredients and blend well.
Makes approximately 1 quart of a delicious and nutritious drink. Best consumed the same day.
 NOTE: The green leaves can be one or a combination of watercress, parsley, spinach, arugula, beet tops, etc. or you can use wild herbs if you can get them. Dr. Kirschner had his own garden of wild edible weeds, such as lamb’s quarters, purslane, comfrey, chickweed, filaree, malva, dandelion, etc. 
VARIATION: This drink can also be made with just the pineapple juice blended with the green leaves.
   Carob (the Un-Chocolate) Sauce
1 cup raw sesame tahini 
1/4 cup raw honey 
1/2 cup (or more) of raw carob powder
1/4 cup filtered water  
1) Put all the ingredients, except the carob powder, into a bowl. 2) Begin stirring and add in 1/2 cup carob powder. Blend ingredients very well by hand, adding in more carob powder if desired. Let your own taste guide you. Also, add more water if you want it thinner, less water if you want it thicker. Makes approx. 1 1/2 cups. Keeps for up to a month in the refrigerator. NOTE: For a chunky sauce, add in finely chopped black figs and pecans.
Carrot-Apple Zinger
2 large carrots 
1 apple 
1 medium beet 
1 1-inch slice of fresh ginger 
1) Put all ingredients through a juicer.    Serves 1.
Cilantro Detox
4-6 apples 
1 medium beet 
1/3 of a fennel bulb 
juice of 1/2 lime 
large handful of cilantro 
Put all the ingredients through a juicer and enjoy. Serves 1-2.

The Dangers of Cow’s Milk - Should children drink Cows Milk?
Raising a child without cows milk seems risky to most parents. Most of us have been raised drinking it and are conditioned to believe the immense benefits it has to offer. It is believed by many, that cows milk is an absolute must to everyone’s diet, especially a growing child who needs the calcium for healthy bone growth.
Think back to as early as elementary school, do you recall the ever so popular food pyramid hanging in your cafeteria that says you need a whopping 3 servings of dairy per day? What about the “Everybody Needs Milk” ads? And the cute little cartons of milk? What child can pass on the school lunch staple - chocolate milk in a cute little carton with a cute little cow?

Our “nutritional education” starting as early as public school (which by the way is partly funded by the dairy industry), taught us that dairy products are one of the four basic food groups we all need for proper nutrition. Cows milk is promoted to be, without a doubt, the most perfect food for humans, especially for children. Being against milk almost seems wrong, and questioning its benefits is bizarre to most. We are told that milk is good, therefore you must believe it is good. But is this really the truth or part of a dairy industry myth?

The Dairy Industry got this part right - Everyone Needs Milk. That is, during infancy, everyone needs milk. Milk is Mother Nature’s most perfect creation. Not only does it provide a baby with the proper nourishment, it also serves as golden medicine. It swarms with antibodies and white blood cells drawn from the body. By drinking it, a baby shares its mothers immune system and much more. Milk provides just the right balance of fats, proteins, vitamins, hormones, and enzymes for the developing baby. Sounds perfect right? It is.. the only catch is that this wonder food is perfect only for the baby whose mother provides it with. In other words, cows milk is perfect… for the calf.. until it is weaned. Dog milk is perfect too, for the puppy of course, as rat milk is for the rat, etc etc etc. Does it make sense to feed a human baby, or adult, with milk that comes from a different species?

To get a better understanding of why cows milk is not meant for humans, lets analyze the difference between a human baby drinking the milk of its mother versus the milk from a cow. The type of milk an animal produces reflects the nutritional needs of its babies. In other words, the milk of each species appears to have been specifically designed to protect the young of that species. In human babies, the high levels of polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs) provided in breast milk is responsible for rapidly developing the brain; tripling in size by the age of one. Cow’s milk contains a significantly lower amount of PUFAs and a higher level of body-building saturated fats contributing to the rapid growth in body size, rather then brain development. Human milk is 5 to 7 percent protein and it takes an infant approximately 180 days to double their birth weight, whereas a calf requires only 45 days to double their birth weight since the cows milk is 15 percent protein. See the major difference?

Besides the amount of protein present in the two milks, the composition is completely different. Cows milk contains 20 times more casein, the primary type of protein, then human milk, making it nearly impossible for us to assimilate. Also, a large majority of us are lactose intolerant. What does this mean exactly? Being lactose intolerant means that we cannot digest lactose which is the sugar in milk (cow’s milk and human milk). An enzyme known as lactase is responsible for digesting lactose. It has been learned that we lose the lactase enzyme activity between the ages of one and a half and four years old. This appears to be a normal process of maturation and shows that in nature, we were never intended to consume lactose containing foods after the normal weaning period. Having proteins that are not assimilated by our body leads to a weakened immune system causing a wide array of problems such as allergies, asthma, skin rashes, arthritis, heart disease and more.

You might be wondering, what about calcium? You will be surprised to learn that although cows milk contains a large percentile of calcium, it is very hard for us humans to assimilate it due to a different composition of enzymes. As a matter of fact, those that are daily dairy consumers have less calcium in their blood when compared to those that do not consume any dairy. Green leafy vegetables are a great source of calcium as well as other essential nutrients.

Besides all this, you must know that nearly all cows, unless you have raised it yourself, are full of toxins such as pesticides, antibiotics, hormones and growth favtors. Just like in human milk, toxins pass through the cows milk. You might say, well, pasteurization takes care of that. Yes, Pasteurization kills most, but not all of these toxins. Pasteurizing milk also greatly diminishes its nutrient content. After pasteurizing, cows milk has up to a 66 percent loss of vitamins A, D and E. Vitamin C loss usually exceeds 50 percent and vitamins B6 and B12 are completely destroyed. Pasteurization also destroys beneficial enzymes, antibodies and hormones. Pasteurization destroys lipase, an enzyme that breaks down fat, which impairs fat metabolism and the ability to properly absorb fat soluble vitamins A and D. (The dairy industry is aware of the diminished vitamin D content in commercial milk, so they fortify it with a form of this vitamin.)

Basically, we are pretty much left with a nutrient-less, chemical full concoction that is high in fat content that gets stored in our cells and contributes to a wide range of health conditions. Does this sound like the perfect food for our developing children? If however, you still firmly believe that cows milk is a MUST in your diet, please find a reputable farm where you can purchase RAW cow milk products from Grass Fed Cows. Raw Cows Milk still contains all the enzymes that are needed for our body to assimilate the proteins found in milk. Grass Fed Cows are treated humanly, do not get any antibiotic or hormones, and therefore provide a safer dairy option then a store bought Organic milk.

Who would of thought that something so basic to the American diet be so harmful? Do you know that Westerners suffer from many more alignments then Easterners? Is it a coincidence? I believe not, but don’t take my word for it. Think through all of this thoroughly and come to your own conclusion. What makes the most sense? How can the much “needed” food contain so many minuses to it? How can any perfect food cause such an array of health conditions? If cows milk was so necessary by the human body, would it cause colic, ear infections and eczema in infants? What do you think?

Master Cleanse and Raw Food, what's the connection?

There are lots of ways to make vegetable juice and it doesn’t have to have carrot in it. Many people like carrot juice, but maybe that isn’t you. Don’t let that stand in your way of adopting The Hallelujah Diet.
